What will you contribute?

Finastra is seeking an experienced strategic leader to serve as the Special Projects Lead to the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO). This role is pivotal in driving forward our technology and innovation agenda, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and facilitating seamless communication and collaboration within the technology organization and across the broader company. The Chief of Staff will collaborate cross-functionally with leaders across Product, HR, Finance, Legal, and more to solve challenges, driving high-priority projects and greater operational excellence.

Key responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the CTIO to align technology and innovation initiatives with Finastra's overall strategic goals and objectives. Provide guidance and support in the development and prioritization of technology roadmaps, innovation projects, and investment areas.
  • Strategic Planning and Decision Support: Assist the CTIO in developing long-term technology and innovation strategies to drive business growth & optimization. Bring research, industry trends, and insights together to inform decision-making processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Set priorities for CTIO agenda, helping to ensure that decisions about how CTIO time is spent reflect their priorities. Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations throughout the technology organization. Manage budgets, ensuring investments are in line with company strategy for infrastructure and people.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure the success of technology and innovation initiatives. Monitor progress, analyze results, and prepare regular reports and updates for executive leadership.
  • Program Management: Oversee key technology and innovation initiatives from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation. Act as a liaison between the CTIO and project teams, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
  • People Leadership: Lead team of Program and Project managers to facilitate key initiatives around Finastra
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the CTIO. Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments, breaking down silos to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Team Development and Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the technology organization. Partner with HR in thinking through workforce management-related activities. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to team members, promoting professional growth and development.

Required skills & experience:

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a business management, strategy and operations, or technology program management leadership role.
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments.
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent program management skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
