What we're looking for

We're seeking an ambitious individual ready to immerse themselves in a growing startup environment. You will report directly to our co-founder and CEO and work closely with the entire executive leadership team. This position will expose you to various stakeholders in the energy industry while working with a team dedicated to making a tangible impact.

This is not an executive assistant role, but a leadership position. You will be expected to lead cross-team projects, ranging from navigating enterprise sales, to evaluating the effectiveness of a go-to-market strategy, to drafting investor updates. This role is ideal for former startup founders, early employees, or those aspiring to found a startup in the future.

Location: Hybrid (Chicago) or Remote (U.S.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to CEO/executive team to optimize company performance and strategy
  • Identify and implement process improvements to scale productivity as team and customer base expand
  • Ensure data-driven insights are integrated into decision-making around areas like pricing, marketing, and financial planning
  • Organize and facilitate productive team strategy sessions
  • Support late-stage sales, renewals, partnership discussions
  • Support CEO and Executive team in preparing comprehensive materials for board meetings
  • Manage key administrative functions to support CEO’s productivity
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in operations management, business operations, or chief of staff role
  • Experience in the energy industry or high-growth software startup
  • Financial acumen with expertise in planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Clear and thoughtful communicator, skilled in asking problem-defining questions related to operations and project management
  • Open to traveling 10-30% of the time, as needed for the role.
  • Legal right to work in the United States
