Revolve Today

Revolve is the first platform creating win-wins for buyers and sellers in peer-to-peer car sales (also called private car sales). We’re building tools for people who want a more honest, human way to buy and sell cars. From creating vehicle listings and finding qualified buyers to managing inquiries and facilitating test drives, our AI, Revy, serves as a trusted co-pilot for both sellers and buyers. We strive to make the end-to-end experience safer and easier, but our true differentiator is that we endeavor to make every car sale feel good. You can read our manifesto on our site (and try our alpha product!), but do note that we’re currently testing in stealth mode under a placeholder brand – we’ll launch officially later this year.

Revolve in the Future

We believe that the fundamental challenges we’re addressing – trust and transparency in peer-to-peer marketplaces, asymmetric information, and costly intermediaries – exist in the markets for many goods and services beyond vehicles. We’re starting with the car market because it’s hard – these are emotional, complicated, and expensive transactions that almost always require buyers and sellers to physically meet, which can sometimes be uncomfortable or unsafe. Because of these hurdles, some groups of people are disproportionately left out of the private market. If we can crack the code in this difficult market, we believe we can expand and scale to other products and services.

How Our Team Works

We are a fully remote team distributed primarily across the Americas. Team members work synchronously between 10am and 2pm PT (UTC-7) Monday through Thursday. Outside these hours, each team member is empowered to determine their own working hours. As Chief of Staff, you’ll work very closely with our CEO, product lead, marketing lead, and the broader team. You’ll contribute to lots of work streams, some of which may be outside your direct role, and you’ll be expected to take ownership of your work, sometimes with minimal direction. You will be empowered to make consequential decisions in your domain, to shape our company’s trajectory broadly, and to work in ways that suit your personal style and your life outside work. Our team embraces five core values that drive how we work and what we build; we aspire to be Bold, Transparent, Empowering, Helpful, and Real.

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an ambitious and strategic Chief of Staff to play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic initiatives and ensuring efficient operations. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional work, leading special projects, and managing company operations. Like most team members, you’ll have both highly strategic work and keeping-the-trains-running operational work. Key responsibilities include:

Strategy and Analytics

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute long-term strategic plans, including leading quarterly OKR setting and scoring
  • Analyze product, market, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement using SQL, PostHog, and other tools
  • Manage analytics tracking and reporting jointly with product and marketing, including for investor communications
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities
  • Support CEO and broader team with financial modeling and budgeting

Operations Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the company, including human-in-the-loop elements of AI operations and customer support
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including management of the team intranet, Slack environment, and work management systems (Asana, Jira)
  • Identify and streamline operational processes to improve efficiency

Executive Support

  • Partner with CEO on internal and investor communications, including strategy and execution of quarterly business reviews
  • Coordinate and facilitate team meetings (e.g. retrospectives, all-hands), and ensure timely follow-up on action items
  • Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and team culture programs
  • Serve as the CEO's right hand, managing schedules, presentations, and comms

Special Projects

  • Scope and manage complex projects, ensuring timely delivery
  • Interface with outside counsel to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Lead early business/partnership development efforts
  • Support product and design by running occasional user interviews

What We Need: Must-Haves

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in strategy, operations, analytics, management consulting, or related field
  • Proven track record of balancing a wide range of cross-functional projects
  • Experience with early-stage startups, ideally including pre-revenue stage

Role Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills that can be applied to a wide range of domains
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to implement and scale processes that help teammates stay organized as well
  • Sharp data analysis skills (e.g. SQL) and the ability to extract value from a range of raw data sources
  • Experience with task management software such as Asana and Jira
  • Experience building presentations, dashboards, and written communications, including for investor audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in a very early-stage startup, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete objectives and initiatives

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and implement feedback iteratively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with a focus on cross-functional comms
  • Comfort working in an ambiguous startup environment, both taking direction and setting direction
  • Eagerness to receive feedback from manager and peers
  • Excitement about collaborating and communicating closely with our multinational remote team, which may require flexibility in working hours

What We Need: Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience using and/or supporting human operations for AI-powered chat products
  • Understanding of and/or experience with multisided online marketplaces
  • Understanding of and/or experience in the automotive sector
  • Experience designing and executing UX research
  • Experience copywriting for marketing communications or product/UI copy
  • Familiarity with tools like Hotjar, PostHog, and Jira
  • MBA or other advanced degree

Important Note: If you don’t meet all of the requirements above, we still would love to hear from you. While you will be expected to execute most of the responsibilities above independently, many will be shared by teammates in product, marketing, and design, and we’ll provide resources (freelancers, agencies, etc) to support you where needed.
