Chief of Staff
Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a chief of staff located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, reporting directly to the managing director of Gray Capital. The chief of staff will assist the managing partner in the management of speaking engagements, events, travel, communications, presentations, reports, spreadsheets, preparation and follow-ups on inquiries in conjunction with the rest of the teams within Gray Capital and related entities. This position will also monitor, record, and facilitate daily transactions, such as billings, invoices, purchases, expenses, and other transactions. The chief of staff will also have responsibility for certain ongoing projects and tasks related to Gray Family Interests.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least three years of work experience
- Bachelor's degree from a leading college or university and/or an MBA
- Business to business marketing and communications experience, including social media and website management, and management of proposals and other marketing materials.
- Experience in accounting and basic finance.
- Experience preparing presentations and related materials
- The highest levels of maturity and professionalism and experience working with confidential and sensitive information
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills Strong with the ability to assist in business planning and data-driven decision-making
- Strong software skills including MS Outlook Calendar, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required; previous experience with accounting/bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, etc.) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional time management and organization skills
- Proactive, self-starter who can operate autonomously in a startup environment
- Ability to travel extensively
