Chief of Staff to the CAO
Job Description
The Chief of Staff to the CAO will serve as a strategic partner and advisor, facilitating communication and collaboration across departments to ensure the smooth operation of the administrative functions of the organization. This role requires a proactive leader with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills who can manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
Strategic Support
- Assists the CAO in developing and executing the strategic vision of the organization. Works with the CAO and Executive Committee to establish annual, quarterly, and monthly strategic priorities and facilitate workflows advancing them. Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Operational Oversight
- Coordinates and manages key projects and initiatives on behalf of the CAO. Monitors the progress of strategic initiatives and provide updates to the CAO. Ensures alignment of departmental activities with organizational goals and objectives. Operates at a tactical, strategic and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility.
Administrative Management
- Creates structure and focus for broad, ambiguous ideas that the executive team is exploring and bring forth recommendations for action in a timely manner. Drives execution of action items and top priorities agreed upon by the CAO, HR, and the Executive Committee. Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Assists with budget preparation and financial management as needed.
Communication and Collaboration
- Serves as a liaison between the CAO and other departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with strong collaborative relationships across the organization. Organizes and facilitates meetings, including setting agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items. Fosters a positive organizational culture and promote teamwork across departments.
- Prepares presentations and updates for internal audiences, such as leadership reports, summaries of board meetings, or presentations for company-wide meetings.
- Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the CAO to facilitate efficient decision making.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
