Crusoe Energy is on a mission to unlock value in stranded energy resources through the power of computation.

Take a look at what we do! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlt8k71Quqw

We aim to align the long term interests of the climate with the future of global computing infrastructure. As data centers consume an exponentially growing power footprint to deliver technology to all connected devices, we are inspired by making sure that the energy meeting that demand is sourced in an environmentally responsible fashion. Crusoe co-locates mobile data centers with stranded energy resources, like flare gas and underloaded renewables, to deliver low-cost, carbon-negative distributed computing solutions. Crusoe Cloud is a managed cloud services platform powered by stranded energy that enables climate-friendly innovation in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering and computational biology.

About This Role:

Crusoe is positioned to become a leading builder and operator of computing and energy infrastructure that will underpin the Artificial Intelligence revolution. The next 2-4 years of Crusoe’s growth are expected to include the exponential growth of Crusoe Cloud, the construction and commissioning of multiple 100+ megawatt AI training and inference data centers with associated low-carbon energy systems, rapid expansion of Crusoe’s team, technology and product capabilities, and potentially an IPO. Additionally, Crusoe continues to operate and scale one of the world’s largest and most climate-aligned Bitcoin mining portfolios, powered by flared natural gas across seven U.S. states and Argentina.

With more than $1 billion of capital raised, significant market traction, an ultra-talented team and a large portfolio of AI-focused projects to execute, we have the opportunity of a lifetime in front of us here at Crusoe. If we successfully execute on this opportunity, we will build an extremely impactful and valuable business that addresses climate challenges related to scaling AI and high performance computing.

Crusoe’s COO and President, Cully Cavness, works at the intersection of the business’ energy, technology, and data center operations, engineering, finance, business development, major project and program management, sustainability strategy, government and public relations, and general leadership of Crusoe’s 350+ passionate and talented employees. The Chief of Staff will support Mr. Cavness across all aspects of his roles and responsibilities in executing Crusoe’s mission: to align the future of computing with the future of the climate.

The ideal candidate is seeking an opportunity to invest himself or herself into extremely hard work including late nights, weekends, a significant volume of domestic travel and periodic international travel, and is prepared to endure long periods of uncertainty, risk, rapid change and adversity. Candidates should possess elite skills in analysis, project management, communication and interpersonal influence. Commercial savvy and common sense are required, operational and/or engineering skills are a major plus. Candidates must have a passion for Crusoe’s mission and desire to be part of a tight-knit and enthusiastic team.

The Chief of Staff will gain first hand exposure to a dynamic and entrepreneurial internal management team, affording very unique learning and development opportunities. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will operate alongside external partners who represent leading names across energy, finance, technology and infrastructure. The experiences and credentials afforded by this role will prepare the candidate for subsequent career steps that may include general management, investing, or entrepreneurial pursuits in a way that few other roles ever could.
