Business Operations Specialist

This Business Operations Specialist position acts as a coordinator for Revenue Service processes that require a balance of both technical and business knowledge. By using data manipulation tools such as Excel and SQL along with a solid understanding of billing processes, the Business Operations Specialist research issues that impact our business and proposes solutions which help the bottom line and reduce bad debt. The Business Operations Specialist is expected to assist in streamlining processes using their insight, business, and technical skills. Positions in this function also help maintain and monitor processes to prevent issues, so attention to detail and a thorough approach to quality control are a must.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge and skills to complex activities
  • Demonstrates a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in own area and is often able to apply these outside of own role
  • Often acts as a technical resource to others
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively identifies solutions
  • Solves complex problems on own; proactively identifies new solutions to problems
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and completes work to meet established objectives
  • Acts as a facilitator to resolve conflicts on team; seen as key team member on project teams spanning more than own function

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of healthcare billing experience
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Excel to include basic (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and basic formulas)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Admin or Economics
  • 1+ years of SQL experience
  • Proven familiarity with Microsoft Access - Run queries and analyze data
  • Proven residence in Southern CA within 2 hours of West Hills office
  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Compensation

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
