Cambron Henderson

I'm an operational generalist with a knack for connecting the dots and an ability to scale way up or get into the weeds. I've worked primarily for founder led, early stage startups experiencing high growth and love working in that high stakes environment. I look forward to sharing my hard won experience and learning from others who understand what it is to embody what can be an amorphous role into one that has meaningful impact. Fun fact - I took accordion lessons and did synchronized swimming as a child.

Pro Tip

Prioritization is one of the key elements for success, in my opinion. And, especially in a start up environment, there are always tradeoffs that mean you need to be ready to make changes to whatever you thought was the most critical item on your list. In order to keep from getting pulled into the weeds, there are 3 questions to ask yourself, or an executive you are supporting, that can help. 1) Does this really need doing? 2) Does this need doing now? 3) Does this need doing by me?

Gives

I'd be happy to be a sounding board or provide any insight that might be helpful for any issues I may have expertise with. I have a good amount of experience with human resources, including executive coaching, reductions in force, and dealing with highly sensitive personnel issues as well as due diligence for M&A activities on the buy and sell side (all areas other than finance and accounting). I have selected and implemented enterprise systems, handled IP and legal issues and created processes and built departments from the ground up.

Asks

In the short term, I'd love some support in communicating my value and telling my story. I have industry hopped some and, until my last W2 role as a Chief of Staff, my title was always something with operations, I struggle to do that effectively. After we were acquired, I have been working on a contract basis as an interim EVP of Operations but am now looking for full time work as a Chief of Staff and would value input on how to position what I am capable of bringing to the table. In the long term, I would value conversations with other Chiefs of Staff about best practices, and the ability to reach out with questions I may have about activities or topics new to me that I may be tasked with in what I hope will be a new role at another startup soon.
